About the Event
On the occassion of the 7th Orange ASEAN Asian Factory in Manila, the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines has partnered up with the Netherlands Embassy for an event focussing on Sustainable Supply Chains. Taking place on Tuesday October 22, 8AM to 11AM, this event will welcome DCCP Members to a presentation by the Chains4Change Programme:
In June 2017, the University of the Philippines and the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) of the Erasmus University (Netherlands) initiated an action research project designed to understand the driving forces of inclusive and competitive business models in agricultural value chains. This was a practical off-shoot of the longer-term research collaboration of the two universities on the Escaping the Middle-Income Trap (EMIT) research project. The action research initiative was undertaken in full collaboration with the Jollibee Group Foundation, Unifrutti – Hineleban Foundation, and PinoyME Foundation.
The results of the action research project resulted in how pragmatic interventions and creative approaches emerge as soon as stakeholder partners in the value chain were able to recognize and develop their shared vision to alleviate poverty.
Orange Factory is an intense 3-week sustainability consultancy program for talented young professionals, entrepreneurs and (master) students from the Netherlands and Southeast Asia, initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
Supported by experienced consultants, academics and field experts, 20-30 participants work in dedicated teams on business cases for real-life issues from our partners, designing innovative solutions for sustainability challenges in the region. Our partners range from multinational companies to local NGOs and government institutions. Yearly, several Factories are organised at different capital cities in the ASEAN region.
